Use our exclusive Glow Planner https://www.aurenzastudio.com/spray-tan-planner-austin to find the ideal appointment date. For vacations, we recommend tanning 1 day before departure. For weddings, special events, and photoshoots, book 2 days prior to allow your color to fully develop and settle. Brides and special-event clients should schedule a trial tan at least 2 weeks in advance. 2. HOW SHOULD I PREP FOR MY SPRAY TAN? Beautiful results begin with proper prep. Exfoliate from head to toe at least 24 hours before your appointment using an oil-free exfoliant and mitt. Shaving and waxing should also be completed at least 24 hours prior. Arrive with clean, product-free skin—no lotion, deodorant, perfume, or makeup. Avoid showering immediately before your appointment. If needed, shower at least 4 hours prior with a quick cool-water rinse and no soap. 3. WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? Arrive in dark, loose-fitting clothing and flip-flops. Loose, long pants are ideal, as tight clothing can disrupt your tan while it develops. During your session, wear whatever feels most comfortable—we provide everything you may need. Male clients should bring boxer briefs or a swimsuit. 4. WILL MY TAN TRANSFER ONTO FABRICS? Before your first rinse, the cosmetic bronzer may temporarily transfer onto clothing, bedding, furniture, or car seats. Wear dark, loose clothing, sleep in long pajamas, and use a towel on light upholstery or leather. After your first rinse, transfer is minimal, and most bronzer washes easily from fabrics. 5. CAN I SPRAY TAN WHILE PREGNANT OR NURSING? We recommend consulting your physician before spray tanning while pregnant or nursing. Nose filters are available for added comfort and precaution. Nursing clients are required to wear nipple covers, which we provide. 6. WILL I LOOK ORANGE? No. Every Aurenza tan is customized to your skin tone, undertone, and desired depth of color. From a subtle glow to a deeper bronze, our goal is always a natural, refined result—never orange. 7. DOES A SPRAY TAN PROTECT ME FROM THE SUN? No. A spray tan provides color without UV exposure, but it does not provide sun protection. You can still tan or burn while wearing a spray tan. Always use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ when outdoors. Moisturize daily with a spray-tan-safe, oil-free lotion, and avoid long hot showers, harsh soaps, scrubs, and excessive exfoliation.
